FORTH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL MOUNTAIN FILM AND ENVIRONMENT
TOUR: CULTURAL CENTRE OF SPAIN IN SEPTEMBER FROM 11 th TO 14 th
The Fourth INKAFEST festival is realized in Huaraz, in August from 20th to 23rd having as the end of the awards, the winners of the films of the festival with the Montrek Auditorium completely full.
We had 4 days of events during all the whole day, where the assistants could appreciate more of 35 films in competitions, and parallel samples in 3 rooms distributed in Huaraz City . We also had parallel activities where could appreciate the competition of Climbing that had as the winner in men, the Peruvian ANDREY MATA and in women from Poland, Karolina Adamowska,
Both winners were rewarded by the mark PATAGONIA and MERRELL, Exhibition of teams of mountain of PATAGONIA and MERRELL, books of mountains of the publishers DESNIVEL of Spain , ALP of Italy , Group TRAVELLERS of Peru , agencies of tourism and others
The people could also appreciate the conferences of the lecturers, and this special Friday of Higo Robin from France , in his spectacular fall from the summit of the snow capped mountain called Artesonraju in the Cordillera White and the miracle to survive, more than 800 meters of fall, an interesting story of friendship in mountaineering.
On Saturday , the most awaited conference: Sebastian Álvaro from Spain , director of the pressed program “Al filo de lo Imposible”, sharing with us his 300 documentaries of adventure, risks and exploits in the five continents .
In addition, we gave the workshop of production of documentaries that was in charge of the Filmmaker Rosemary Álvarez, documentary for boys with subjects related to the care of the environment. The press invited to the festival also took part of the sportive activities, in the beautiful landscapes, very close to Huaraz.
The jury was composed by big international and national characters:
Sebastian Álvaro from Spain – director of the connoted program “AL FILO DE LO IMPOSIBLE”.
Edgar Saba Peru – director of the cultural centre The Catholic and director of the festival of cinema of Lima,
Carlos Buhler from The United States – an international and prestigious mountain climber,
Monica Schmidt from Brazil – director of cinema
Mario Holenstein – Swiss – Employer.
The international jury that was in the INKAFEST 2008, is grateful to Promperu and to the cultural centre of Spain .
The Grand Prize (the best film of the festival): OIL & WATER (USA) .-$ 1,000 dollars and the Alpamayo of gold, prize of the city of Huaraz, given by The City Town provincial of Huaraz.- To show with humor and creativity the accuracy of two youngsters kayakers that crossed from north to south bravely America and they didn't give up to the adventure, trying to make sensible of one of the big energetic problems that face the actual society.
Prize to the best Peruvian production: THE GIGANTES, ALCIBIADES, And THE FOREST OF STONES.- $ 800 dollars and the Alpamayo of silver, prize offered by the cultural center of Spain.- To reveal poetically the attempt to transmit the traditions and the beauty of the Natural heritage from Peru to the new generations
